Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Staff Data Engineer in Córdoba, Argentina to design, build, and operate large-scale data infrastructure for cybersecurity analytics. You will own ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivery using AWS tools and work with data scientists, product engineers, and stakeholders.

You will lead design reviews, enforce data quality and governance, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to ADRs and documentation. Strong cloud data platform experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software or data engineering with 4+ years on cloud data platforms.
• Deep expertise with AWS data services and data catalog tooling.
• Strong Python and PySpark/Scala for large-scale data transformation.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data pipelines on AWS for petabyte-scale data.
• Build and maintain cloud data lake architecture on S3.
• Define data quality standards and governance practices.
• Lead technical design discussions and mentor engineers.
