Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Córdoba, Argentina. You will design, build, and operate large-scale data infrastructure on AWS, collaborating with data scientists, product engineers, and stakeholders to deliver reliable data assets.

You will lead data pipeline design, implement quality standards, and mentor other engineers while aligning with our security and governance principles across the data lifecycle.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software or data engineering experience, with at least 4 years focused on cloud data platforms.
Deep expertise with AWS data services: S3, Glue, Athena, and related tooling.
Strong Python programming and production-grade PySpark/Spark ( Scala ) skills; solid SQL fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue to ingest and transform large datasets.
Define and maintain cloud data lake architecture on S3, including partitioning and data catalog schemas.
Establish data quality standards, validation frameworks, and SLA-driven alerting.
