Job summary

Proofpoint in Córdoba, Argentina is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. In this senior individual-contributor role you will design, build, and operate large-scale data infrastructure using AWS services to support cybersecurity products and analytics.

You will ingest, transform, and orchestrate data across the full life cycle, define data models, enforce quality and governance, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with data scientists and product managers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software or data engineering experience, with 4+ years on cloud data platforms.
• Deep AWS data services expertise: S3, Glue, Athena.
• Strong Python and PySpark/ Spark experience.
• Solid SQL fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data pipelines using AWS Glue and PySpark to ingest and transform large datasets.
• Build and maintain cloud data lake architecture on S3 with proper partitioning and data cataloging.
• Enforce data quality and governance, with monitoring and alerting.
• Lead design discussions and mentor junior engineers.
