Job summary

Proofpoint is looking for a Staff Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in Córdoba, Argentina.

In this senior individual-contributor role you will design, build, and operate the large-scale data infrastructure that underpins Proofpoint's cybersecurity products and analytics, collaborating with data scientists, product engineers, and business stakeholders to turn raw data into reliable, governed data assets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software or data engineering, with 4+ years on cloud data platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong Python, PySpark/Scala, and SQL skills; experience with data governance.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate scalable data pipelines and data lake architecture on AWS.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and influence the technical roadmap.
• Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to translate requirements into robust data models.
• Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and privacy-by-design across assets.
