Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team in a hybrid role based in Cordoba, Argentina. You will own reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities, building cloud infra (AWS-first), CI/CD pipelines, and DataOps tooling.

You will work with AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, implementing observability, security, and scalable data products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps/Platform/SRE with at least 2 years in data engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, and CloudFormation/CDK.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue ETL, Athena, and S3 lifecycle/encryption.
• Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Strong CI/CD experience across GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to design observability systems for data and platform services.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS data infra and ETL jobs.
• Build and manage AWS-based cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform / CDK).
• Own observability stack with metrics, logs, and alerts to ensure SLAs.
• Develop self-service DataOps tooling and reusable pipelines.
• Operate containerized data ingestion microservices and orchestration workers.
• Manage workflow orchestration environments (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions).
• Lead incident response for data platform outages and post-mortems.
• Mentor junior engineers in DevOps and data engineering practices.
