Job summary

Proofpoint in Cordoba, Argentina, is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to own reliability and automation of data pipelines and analytics platforms. You’ll build cloud infrastructure (AWS-first), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling to empower data teams and ship high-quality data products.

You will design and operate data workflows using AWS Glue, Athena, and S3, focusing on security, governance, and developer experience. A strong operational mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps/platform engineering or SRE with data engineering experience.
• Deep AWS core services experience: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS.
• Hands-on with Terraform and/or CDK for production cloud environments.
• Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS/EKS, Kubernetes).
• Ability to design observability systems and communicate trade-offs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data infra.
• Develop and manage AWS-based cloud infrastructure (IaC).
• Own observability: metrics, logs, alerts, and incident response.
• Develop DataOps tooling and reusable pipeline templates.
• Manage data ingestion services and orchestration workers.
• Operate workflow environments (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions).
• Build and maintain AWS Glue ETL jobs for large-scale data ingestion.
• Drive security best practices across the data platform and teams.
• Lead incident response and perform root-cause analyses.
• Mentor junior engineers in DevOps and data engineering.
