Job summary

Bayer seeks an experienced leader for Research and Impact Acceleration to define vision, strategy, and multi-year plans that speed learning, improve evidence quality, and enable rapid iteration in the early breeding pipeline.

You will collaborate across crops, regions, and functions, shaping technology agendas, driving adoption, and tracking impact to align with long-range growth across global markets.

Qualifications

• PhD degree or MS degree in Plant or Animal Breeding, Quantitative or Statistical Genetics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies, analytics and information technologies, genomics, and/or quantitative genetics with a proven track record of driving innovation into applied pipelines.
• Strong ability to collaborate and build cross-functional partnerships across regions and functions.
• Demonstrated ability to embrace and role-model VACC leadership attributes, aligned with Bayer's Values, Ambition, Collaboration, and Creativity expectations.

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration across the early breeding pipeline.
• Establish how the organization formulates and answers research questions with hypothesis-driven design and evidence.
• Shape the enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding, genomics, phenotyping, predictive analytics, automation, and digital workflows.
• Lead the adoption strategy to embed new practices across crops and regions at scale.
• Own the impact narrative and its metrics to steer investment and long-range plans.
