Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Research and Impact Acceleration Lead to define and drive the vision for accelerating research in the early breeding pipeline. You will lead cross-functional teams, shape the technology agenda, and partner with universities to advance innovation globally.

You will influence leadership with evidence-based insights on cycle time, genetic gain, and cost, while aligning with Bayer's values and strategic goals across crops and regions.

Qualifications

• PhD degree or MS degree in Plant or Animal Breeding, Quantitative or Statistical Genetics, Data Science, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of advanced breeding technologies, analytics and information technologies, genomics, and/or quantitative genetics
• Strong ability to collaborate and build cross-functional partnerships across regions and functions
• Demonstrated ability to embrace and role-model VACC leadership attributes, aligned with Bayer's values

Responsibilities

• Define the vision and multi-year strategy for research acceleration across the early breeding pipeline.
• Establish standards for hypothesis-driven design and evidence-based decisions.
• Shape enabling-technology agenda across accelerated breeding, genomics, phenotyping, and analytics.
• Lead adoption strategies and change management across crops and regions.
• Own the impact narrative and metrics related to cycle time and genetic gain.
• Provide technical, strategic, and product knowledge to the Capability Center.
• Lead and contribute to Global Breeding strategies and the Long-Range Plan.
• Engage with universities to attract future talent and partnerships.
• Serve in L3 leadership units to align research acceleration with product decisions.
• Foster HS&E, Compliance, DEI, and Human Rights within the Capability Hub
