Role Context

The Waiter is responsible for delivering attentive and efficient dining service while maintaining the standards expected within a luxury hotel restaurant. From preparing tables and presenting menu information to processing payments and monitoring guest satisfaction, the role directly influences the quality of each dining experience. The position requires strong product knowledge, careful handling of operating equipment and close coordination with colleagues across Food and Beverage operations. By maintaining organized service areas, reducing waste and responding quickly to guest concerns, the waiter contributes to both customer loyalty and outlet efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Review daily hotel events and remain informed about VIP arrivals and relevant guest activity.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of menu items, ingredients, garnishes and preparation methods.
• Explain dishes, daily specials and alternative menu options clearly when requested by guests.
• Present children 's menus when appropriate and assist families with suitable dining selections.
• Serve food and beverages discreetly, efficiently and according to established service standards.
• Clear used items promptly without disrupting the guest experience.
• Monitor guest satisfaction throughout service and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Inform the manager of guest issues and communicate the action taken to resolve them.
• Use the POS system to enter sales, print checks, close bills and complete cash-out procedures.
• Follow approved cash and credit card handling procedures established by the accounting department.
• Carry trays safely and professionally during food and beverage service.
• Bus, clean and reset tables using the required linen, china, glassware and silverware.
• Complete opening and closing side duties according to assigned schedules.
• Set tables accurately in accordance with restaurant presentation standards.
• Keep service stations stocked with required condiments and operating supplies.
• Refill salt, pepper, sugar, creamers and other service items as necessary.
• Polish silverware and maintain service equipment in presentable condition.
• Maintain a clean, orderly and welcoming restaurant environment throughout operating hours.
• Ensure service and storage areas remain safe, clean and properly organized.
• Report deviations from approved service procedures to the responsible manager.
• Communicate guest feedback relating to food or beverage quality to outlet management.
• Handle restaurant equipment carefully to minimize damage, breakage and unnecessary replacement costs.
• Reduce waste and avoid misuse of supplies, materials and operating equipment.
• Follow established sanitation, hygiene and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain full awareness of hotel restaurants, Food and Beverage services and other guest facilities.
• Build cooperative working relationships with kitchen teams, fellow service colleagues and other hotel departments.
• Perform light cleaning and routine upkeep within the outlet as required.
• Support other Food and Beverage outlets during peak periods or when operational demand requires additional assistance.

Ideal Profile

The role requires at least one year of previous food and beverage serving experience, preferably within a hotel, restaurant or similarly service-focused environment.
