Role Context

The Waiter is responsible for delivering a smooth and personalized Food and Beverage experience from the moment guests arrive until they leave the outlet. The position requires awareness of guest preferences, accurate service execution, strong product knowledge, and continuous attention to table presentation and dining quality. The role also contributes to outlet revenue and operational efficiency by recommending suitable menu items, using upselling techniques, minimizing wastage and breakage, and maintaining service equipment in ready condition. Consistent performance helps strengthen guest satisfaction, repeat business, and overall restaurant reputation.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and escort them to their tables in a professional and courteous manner.
• Provide attentive and personalized Food and Beverage service according to hotel operating standards.
• Present menus and explain available dishes, beverages, specials, and relevant recommendations.
• Develop detailed knowledge of the outlet 's food and beverage offerings to answer guest questions accurately.
• Take guest orders carefully and communicate them clearly to kitchen and beverage teams.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining correct presentation and service sequence.
• Monitor the quality and presentation of items being served and raise concerns when standards are not met.
• Check on guests during their meal without disrupting their dining experience.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, questions, and service needs.
• Handle routine complaints professionally and involve the appropriate supervisor when further assistance is required.
• Build positive guest relationships through courteous, discreet, and responsive service.
• Use approved upselling techniques to recommend additional menu items, beverages, desserts, or other suitable options.
• Support outlet revenue goals while ensuring recommendations remain relevant to guest preferences.
• Complete mise en place and all other service preparations before opening.
• Maintain table settings, service stations, and outlet equipment during operations.
• Complete cleaning, restocking, and closing duties after service.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
• Handle service equipment carefully to reduce breakage and unnecessary replacement costs.
• Minimize food and beverage wastage and report avoidable losses where appropriate.
• Coordinate with kitchen, bar, supervisory, and service colleagues to maintain smooth restaurant operations.
• Follow guest instructions and special requirements accurately whenever operationally possible.
• Maintain professional grooming and presentation in accordance with hotel standards.
• Follow health, hygiene, environmental, and safety procedures during all Food and Beverage activities.

Ideal Profile

• Previous experience within the Hospitality industry is preferred.
• Experience in restaurant, hotel, cafe, resort, or Food and Beverage service is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to communicate positively with guests.
• Reliable and responsible approach to daily duties.
• Able to stay calm and professional during demanding service periods.
