This role entails supporting and troubleshooting AV systems in high-end hospitality, requiring 3–5 years of experience and strong technical knowledge of systems like Q-SYS and Crestron. As an Onsite Support Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of professional AV systems deployed within a high-end hospitality environment. You’ll work hands-on with cutting-edge technology, including Q-SYS DSP and control platforms, digital signage, media players, projection systems, and immersive AV experiences. The role also includes exposure to playback and projection mapping technologies like Pixera and Scalable Display Technologies.
You’ll ensure seamless operation for daily events, conferences, interactive exhibits, background music systems, and digital content delivery—while maintaining high service standards and collaboration with client stakeholders.
AV System Support and Maintenance
Provide hands-on support for AV systems including Q-SYS cores, Crestron/Extron control systems, digital signage players, conferencing technologies, and distributed audio.
Perform regular maintenance and health checks to ensure all AV systems remain operational.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate projectors, LED walls, and large-format displays used throughout the venue.
Q-SYS and Control System Management
Configure and maintain Q-SYS DSP and control systems for audio routing, control interfaces, and automation.
Support firmware updates, system optimisations, and integration of third-party devices with Crestron and Extron systems.
Media Player and Digital Signage Support
Support platforms such as BrightSign, Tripleplay, and similar media players used across digital signage and content delivery networks.
Assist with player setup, content scheduling, and CMS troubleshooting.
Playback & Immersive Systems
Provide support for media server platforms such as Pixera and 7thSense used for interactive content playback and visual displays.
Collaborate with content or technical teams to support content testing, system alignment, and playback stability.
Projection Mapping Systems
Assist with setup, support, and alignment of projection systems using Scalable Display Technologies or similar solutions.
Understand geometry correction, edge blending, and spatial mapping techniques.
Experience with manual projection mapping techniques is also acceptable and considered valuable.
Event and Meeting Room Support
Set up and operate AV systems for meetings, conferences, and large-scale events.
Provide real-time support for microphones, switching, audio mixing, and video playback during live sessions.
Client Interaction and Collaboration
Act as the first point of contact for AV support on-site.
Collaborate with IT, events, and facilities teams to meet client requirements.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain detailed logs of incidents, maintenance checks, and system changes.
Provide updates to AVI-SPL operations and client teams on performance and system health.
Strong technical knowledge of AV systems, including Q-SYS, Crestron, Extron, Dante, and AV-over-IP.
Experience supporting media players (e.g., BrightSign, Tripleplay) and content scheduling platforms.
Familiarity with Pixera, 7thSense, and other playback systems for immersive or large-format content delivery.
Exposure to projection mapping tools such as Scalable Display Technologies, with knowledge of edge blending and geometric correction.
Manual projection mapping experience is also welcome.
Familiarity with video conferencing tools (e.g., Teams, Zoom, Webex) and digital signage platforms.
Basic understanding of IP networking and AV-over-IP distribution.
3–5 years of onsite experience in AV support or engineering, ideally in hospitality, entertainment, or high-traffic venues.
Experience supporting daily AV operations, events, and immersive AV installations.
Diploma or degree in Electronics, AV Technology, IT, or a related field.
Manufacturer training or certifications in:
Q-SYS (Level 1 or 2)
Crestron, Extron, Dante, BrightSign, Tripleplay, or equivalent
Calm and solutions-oriented under pressure.
Strong communicator with a client-focused attitude.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
