Role Context
The supervisor will oversee the daily execution of a shift at an Amazon operational site, supporting inbound fulfillment, sortation, inventory handling, dispatch, or last‑mile delivery preparation. Responsibilities include coordinating labor, communicating priorities, monitoring process readiness, and ensuring associates meet operational plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a safe working environment.
- Identify safety risks, equipment concerns, and unsafe practices before they affect employees or operations.
- Ensure associates follow Amazon safety standards, quality requirements, operating procedures, and site policies.
- Lead, support, and train associates during daily fulfillment, sortation, or delivery‑station activities.
- Assign work according to operational demand, employee capability, process readiness, and shift priorities.
- Adjust labor allocation throughout the shift to meet changing volumes, plans, and forecasts.
- Monitor order fulfillment and ensure customer shipments are processed accurately and within required timelines.
- Communicate shift priorities, targets, constraints, and critical updates to frontline managers and operators.
- Prepare clear shift handovers covering performance, staffing, safety, equipment, inventory, and unresolved issues.
- Work with support functions to address recurring problems in safety, training, maintenance, process readiness, and workplace organization.
- Apply 5S principles to maintain clean, structured, efficient, and easily controlled operational areas.
- Review operational data and identify productivity gaps, delays, quality defects, and process bottlenecks.
- Investigate problems using structured analysis and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Use performance metrics to evaluate whether improvement initiatives are producing measurable results.
- Help solve logistics and supply chain challenges through data analysis, innovation, and process optimization.
- Examine existing procedures and identify opportunities to simplify work, reduce waste, and improve consistency.
- Support reliability and maintenance activities by reporting equipment issues and coordinating operational access.
- Work with technical support or maintenance teams to resolve hardware, software, system, and equipment problems.
- Communicate effectively with internal customers during problem resolution and maintain service under pressure.
- Support the implementation of new systems, processes, tools, and operational standards.
- Lead assigned projects independently from planning and execution through completion and reporting.
- Prepare project schedules, resource requirements, status updates, and risk information when required.
- Use Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, reporting systems, and database tools to support operational decisions.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and help investigate discrepancies in fulfillment or distribution environments.
- Present operational recommendations to managers and stakeholders to gain support for improvement initiatives.
Ideal Profile
- Experience in operations, logistics, fulfillment, distribution, reliability maintenance, technical support, or a related environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with technical, operational, business, and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to present ideas and gain stakeholder support for operational initiatives.
- Ability to work proactively, manage responsibilities independently, and meet project deadlines.
- Practical experience in problem‑solving, data analysis, and process improvement.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience working in reliability or maintenance‑related environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders during problem resolution.
- Experience delivering projects independently from initial planning through completion.
- Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and disciplined reporting skills.
- Familiarity with database technologies such as NoSQL is beneficial.

- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Experience in research, investigation, or structured root‑cause analysis is preferred.

- Previous responsibility for inventory within a retail, warehouse, fulfillment, or distribution setting is preferred.
