Sourcing (Direct Material) Contract Sr. Manager

Dubai, UAE

Operations Group — Contract Management (reports into the Contract Management team)

Nextracker innovates and delivers a leading solar power technology platform with integrated tracker, electrical solutions, and yield management and control systems for utility-scale and distributed generation projects. Nextracker offers innovative solutions that accelerate solar power plant construction, increase energy output, and enhance long-term reliability. Our culture is rooted in sustainability, innovation, and collaborative problem‑solving—and we’re excited to grow our new Dubai office. Make your mark with Nextracker.

We are looking to hire a Sourcing Contract Sr. Manager who will drive supplier‑side contract administration, manage claims with suppliers, and ensure tight back‑to‑back alignment between our customer commitments and our direct material supplier agreements—so Operations can execute with confidence.

We’re looking for someone who demonstrates:
  • Passionate drive to innovate and create
  • Integrity to the core
  • Enthusiastic customer focus
  • Consistent interactive teamwork
  • Desire for continuous improvement and top performance
  • Focused on establishing long‑term and mutually beneficial relationships with Suppliers and Customers
Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
  • Partner with the US‑based Sourcing team to draft, review, and negotiate direct‑material supplier contracts globally (e.g., NDAs, supply agreements, purchase order terms, amendments, and change orders). Ensure compliance with company guidelines—especially in areas affecting Operations such as delivery schedules, change control, quality requirements, packaging/logistics, Incoterms, title/risk of loss, warranties, and liquidated damages.
  • Partner with Sourcing to support implementation of global sourcing strategies, including implementation of business programs and related analytics.
  • Manage claims and notifications to suppliers, including notices for late delivery, shortages, nonconformances, serial defects, field failures, and all related pass‑through costs—tracking actions to closure and documenting recoveries.
  • Coordinate with the Contract Management team to minimize gaps between Nextracker’s customer‑facing contracts and supplier‑facing contracts (back‑to‑back coverage across scope, specifications, acceptance, schedule, warranty, liability caps, liquidated damages, insurance, force majeure, etc.).
  • Work cross‑functionally with Sourcing, Operations, Quality, Logistics, Project Management, and Legal to align supplier terms with project execution needs; prepare deviation summaries and obtain approvals for non‑standard terms.
  • Support management of customer claims that impact suppliers (e.g., delivery delays or serial defects) by issuing timely supplier notices, leading root‑cause and corrective‑action coordination, and driving commercial recovery aligned to our customer obligations.
  • Own the supplier contract lifecycle: maintain the contract repository, ensure proper approvals and signatures, manage amendments and change orders, monitor key obligations and milestones, and support process improvements that speed execution without compromising compliance.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal stakeholders and suppliers during negotiation and performance, helping interpret terms, resolve conflicts, and keep stakeholders informed with crisp, regular status reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of templates, playbooks, and guidance notes for direct‑material agreements; share best practices and provide light training to Sourcing and Operations teams.
  • Track and report supplier‑contract status and KPIs to management—maintaining dashboards for contract cycle times, negotiation times, back‑to‑back coverage, claims status/recovery, and upcoming obligations; flag risks and drive corrective actions.
  • Partner with company stakeholders to work with suppliers to facilitate drafting, review and negotiation of contracts as well as communicating shipping and documentation requirements as mandated by cross‑functional teams in support of U.S. Customs processes.
  • Collaborate with Trade Compliance team and Legal team to incorporate terms and conditions in accordance with export controls and sanctions laws and regulations.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required):
  • Proven experience negotiating and administering supplier‑side contracts for direct materials in manufacturing, energy, or industrial environments, including managing supplier claims.
  • Strong commercial acumen with working knowledge of Incoterms (2020), delivery and acceptance frameworks, quality/warranty constructs, and back‑to‑back risk alignment.
  • Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to write clear contract language and formal notices.
  • Self‑motivated, organized, and comfortable operating within a global environment, coordinating with colleagues and stakeholders across time zones.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and experience working within a contract database/CLM or equivalent tooling.
  • Familiarity with the UAE contracting environment and readiness to work on‑site in Dubai, UAE.
