Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality care to antenatal, intrapartum, postpartum women and neonates.
  • Ensure patient safety by managing risks according to policies.
  • Facilitate positive patient and family experiences.
  • Provide accurate records of all nursing interventions.
  • Supervise, mentor, and coach learners and nursing employees.
  • Utilise required stock and equipment efficiently.
  • Guide and support the team.

Skills

Verbal and written communication skills in English
Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office)
Comprehensive knowledge of patient safety standards

Main Purpose of Job

To provide and coordinate patient-centric and evidence based midwifery care by ensuring compliance to ethical and professional standards set by regulatory authorities and the company

Key Responsibility Areas
  • To deliver quality care to antenatal intrapartum postpartum women and neonates in collaboration with the multi professional team according to set clinical standards and relevant legislation
  • Ensure patient safety by identifying preventing and managing risks in accordance with clinical risk policies procedures and relevant legislation
  • To facilitate positive patient and family experiences by creating a conducive environment as guided by nursing leadership
  • To provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions according to company standard and legal requirements
  • To create and contribute to a learning environment that builds employee competence by actively supervising mentoring and coaching learners and nursing employees
  • To utilise all required stock and equipment efficiently according to Mediclinic guidelines
  • To guide and support the team
Required Education

A relevant bachelors degree in Midwifery

Required Experience

At least 5 years Midwifery Experience

At least 3 years experience as Shift Leader / Senior in Charge

Required Job Skills and Knowledge
