Qualifications

  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in E&I construction quality control.
  • At least 5 years in a Senior QC Engineer role on large EPCM or EPC projects.
  • Proven experience on oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or large industrial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and enforce Quality Control activities for all E&I construction works.
  • Ensure that all E&I works comply with project specifications, approved drawings and standards.
  • Review and approve contractor Inspection & Test Plans and quality procedures for E&I works.

The key objectives for this role are:
  • Responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing Quality Control activities for all E&I construction and installation works at the project site. Working within an EPCM framework, the role ensures that all E&I works are executed in compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, applicable codes and standards, and contractual quality requirements.
  • The position involves close coordination with construction contractors, engineering teams, commissioning teams, and the client to ensure quality objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Quality Control & Assurance
  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) for E&I construction activities.
  • Ensure all E&I works comply with project specifications, IFC drawings, approved procedures, and applicable international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, ISA, API, etc.).
  • Review and approve contractor Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and quality procedures for E&I works.
  • Conduct site inspections, surveillance, and audits for E&I installations including:
    • Electrical cabling, cable trays, grounding and bonding
    • Switchgear, MCCs, transformers, panels, and lighting systems
    • Instrument installation, tubing, impulse lines, and hook-ups
    • Control systems, PLC/DCS, field instruments, and analyzers
Inspection & Testing
  • Witness and verify inspections and tests such as:
    • Cable continuity, insulation resistance, and high‑voltage tests
    • Loop checks, calibration, and functional testing
    • Grounding system testing
    • Pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of inspection and test records.
Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions
  • Identify, report, and manage Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Review and approve corrective and preventive actions proposed by contractors.
  • Monitor closure of NCRs and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Review and approve quality records, inspection reports, test certificates, and as‑built documentation.
  • Maintain E&I quality dossiers in line with project and client requirements.
  • Prepare regular quality status reports for EPCM management and the client.
Coordination & Interface Management
  • Coordinate with EPCM engineering teams to resolve technical and quality‑related issues.
  • Interface with construction, commissioning, and HSE teams to ensure smooth execution of E&I works.
  • Participate in site meetings, quality meetings, and technical reviews.
  • Support client and third‑party inspections and audits.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all quality activities are conducted in compliance with project HSE requirements.
  • Promote a quality culture on site and mentor junior QC inspectors and engineers.

Education
