Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the pre-construction phase of complex multidisciplinary projects. Responsibilities include managing design deliverables, optimizing time, cost, and quality outcomes, and ensuring project readiness from concept to tender award. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering and a minimum of 12 years of focused project management experience. The position is full-time with no remote work options.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in project management.
  • Strong focus on pre-contract phase of design-intensive construction projects.
  • Extensive experience with multidisciplinary projects in architectural systems.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage consultants and deliver projects from concept to contractor appointment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-construction phase of complex projects.
  • Contribute to bidding and win future work.
  • Drive coordination between different design consultants.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Understands contractual obligations including AECOM DOAs and risk committee procedures.
  • Has thorough understanding of consenting and regulatory authority for approvals.
  • Performs technical quality reviews and documents in project records following policies and procedures.
  • Delivers planned profit margins and completes projects without write-downs or margin erosion.
  • Typically manages projects involving Risk Triggering Factors (RTF).
  • Minimizes exposure to claims.
  • Oversees development of project briefs, design programs and procurement plans with internal teams and consultants.
  • Drives coordination between architectural, MEP and structural consultants to ensure integrated and buildable design solutions.
  • Facilitates design reviews, resolves design issues and ensures compliance with codes and regulations.

Job description

Overview

AECOM are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the pre-construction phase of complex multidisciplinary projects involving Architecture MEP and Structural designs. This role is responsible for ensuring project readiness from concept to tender award aligning stakeholder expectations managing design deliverables and optimizing time cost and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Contributes to bidding to win future work and can influence customers suppliers and peers.
  • Actively pursues continuous learning of technical advances and emerging business/industry trends.
  • Identifies and develops new processes for competitive positioning to improve efficiency or work quality.
  • Demonstrate relevant knowledge of policies including health and safety environment company ethics and business best practices.
  • All contractual obligations including AECOM DOAs and risk committee procedures should be thoroughly understood.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of consenting and regulatory authority for approvals.
  • Performs technical quality reviews including documentation in project records by following policies and procedures.
  • Delivers planned profit margins and completes projects without write-downs or margin erosion.
  • Typically manages projects involving RTF (Risk Triggering Factors).
  • Minimizes exposure to claims.

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in project management with a strong focus on the pre-contract phase of design-intensive construction projects in either residential hospitality or mixed use developments.
  • Extensive experience with large-scale multidisciplinary projects involving architectural and MEP/structural systems.
  • Proven ability to lead teams manage consultants and deliver projects from concept to contractor appointment.
