Job summary

A construction and transportation services provider is seeking a skilled Cost Control Engineer to oversee project budgets and ensure compliance with financial controls. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, along with 8 to 12 years of experience in cost control for building and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities include monitoring expenditures, preparing forecasts, and collaborating with project teams. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting project management.

  • Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, and final accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost breakdown structures, and cost control systems.
  • Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Prepare cost forecasts, cash flow projections, and cost variance analysis.
  • Identify cost overruns and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare and submit monthly cost reports, progress reports, and financial summaries.
  • Track committed costs, actual costs, and projected final costs.
  • Support management with accurate financial data for decision-making.
  • Review contracts, subcontracts, and BOQs for cost compliance.
  • Manage variations, change orders, and claims in coordination with project teams.
  • Assist in final accounts preparation and project close-out.
  • Coordinate with project managers, planning engineers, procurement, and site teams.
  • Support procurement by reviewing vendor/subcontractor cost proposals.
  • Monitor subcontractor payments and interim valuations.
  • Participate in project meetings and cost review sessions.
Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 812 years of experience in cost control for building/Infrastructure construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, and final accounts.
  • Excellent understanding of construction cost structures.
  • Contractual and commercial awareness.
