Job Purpose
To plan, implement, and manage Emirates Flight Catering’s workplace safety framework across all operational areas, including high-risk and airside environments, ensuring compliance with company safety management systems, applicable regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
The role supports the Senior Manager – Health & Safety in driving accident prevention, risk mitigation, safety culture, and continuous improvement to ensure a safe working environment for employees, contractors, and stakeholders.
Key Results Area
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of workplace safety management systems in alignment with company standards and regulatory requirements across all operational areas, including airside operations.
- Lead accident, incident, hazard, and near‑miss reporting processes, ensuring timely investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and closure.
- Conduct workplace risk assessments and ensure the implementation of effective preventative and control measures to minimise injuries, incidents, and operational risks.
- Plan and execute safety inspections and audits covering facilities, machinery, equipment, and operational practices, ensuring findings are addressed and compliance gaps are closed.
- Maintain accurate safety records, metrics, and dashboards, providing regular reports and performance insights to management.
- Deliver safety inductions, awareness programmes, and training initiatives to promote safe work practices and reinforce safety accountability.
- Support employee recovery and reintegration initiatives aimed at reducing lost time injuries.
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and functional stakeholders to integrate safety requirements into daily workflows and operational planning.
- Liaise with relevant authorities, auditors, insurers, and other stakeholders on workplace safety matters.
Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience
Education Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline (must have).
- Professional safety certifications or specialised training (preferred).
Work Experience
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an occupational safety role within complex or regulated operational environments.
- Proven experience implementing and managing safety management systems.
- Strong background in incident investigation, risk assessment, and safety audits.
- Experience in aviation, logistics, manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments is an advantage.
