Role Overview

Wood is recruiting for a Quality Lead to join its UAE Business Unit, focusing on the application of quality principles, systems, measures and the quality management system for a Major Onshore Brownfield Project in Dubai, UAE.

This is a full‑time office‑based role in Dubai with travel requirements.

Key Objectives

Manage or support the application of quality principles, systems and measures across a programme or project to improve delivery efficiency, customer satisfaction and reduce risks and rework while complying with Wood’s Quality Policy, standards and objectives.

Ensure compliance with the Wood Business Management System through a structured assurance program.

Use performance data to support continuous improvement and provide information and data to programme/project leaders for preventive interventions.

This position has a broad scope and typically applies across a single programme/project, possibly leading a small quality team or supporting a deployed Quality Manager on a larger or complex programme.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Support management of all quality aspects within the organization and services.
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders to promote quality management and gather performance feedback.
  • Plan and allocate resources (people and budgets) to deliver agreed objectives.
  • Implement the Wood Business Management System (BMS) and monitor compliance, facilitating external certification as needed.
  • Implement and maintain quality supporting systems (e.g., NCR, improvement actions, lessons learned).
  • Support tenders and proposal activities.
  • Plan and execute risk‑based assurance plans and report significant findings to leaders.
  • Monitor and analyse delivery performance data, report trends to senior leaders and intervene as required.
  • Provide quality support through supply‑chain processes to ensure first‑time delivery of products and services.
  • Gather and act on customer feedback to maintain and improve satisfaction.
Working Relationships

Internal: Engage operational and functional leaders, contribute to Business Quality networks and lead senior quality advisors, quality advisors, inspectors and associates.

External: Engage customers, key suppliers (e.g., MS certification bodies), work with industry bodies and interface with peers in competitor organisations.

Level of Influence and Decision‑Making Authority
  • Present business cases and facts to influence organisational leaders and quality teams.
  • Apply knowledge to ensure compliance with regulatory, industry and Wood standards.
  • Define budgets and approve expenditures in line with the DOA.

Expected
  • Degree/diploma or local equivalent in Quality Management, Project Management or related discipline (desirable)
  • Lead Auditor qualification by a recognised industry body (essential)
  • Membership of CQI/ASQ Quality organisations, Project Management Institute or equivalent (desirable)
  • Formal training in recognised root cause analysis techniques (essential)

  • 20+ years of relevant experience (preferably in the associated industry)
  • Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9001
  • Proficient in process and data analysis
