Job Objective

Ensure successful project delivery by leading engineering teams, managing technical scope, controlling quality/cost/schedule, mitigating risks, and coordinating stakeholders (client, contractors), ultimately delivering the project on time, within budget, and to specified standards, acting as the main technical liaison for the client.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Deliverables
  • Oversee a team that manages and coordinates engineering multidiscipline inputs and deliverables across multiple execution centers, including workshare/high‑value engineering centers
  • Appraise the Project Engineering team on key execution principles and the contractual basis of the project
  • Prepare Discipline Design Instruction and Project Engineering Manpower Plans, and develop multidiscipline contract requisition scopes
  • Interface with discipline managers for resources
  • Create and implement work plans for discipline and inter‑discipline interfaces; identify key dates, milestones, and deliverables, drive for completion, and manage forecasts
  • Create work share plan
HSE, Quality and Assurance
  • Check compliance with Project Quality System; audit projects and proactively drive the team
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) reviews are planned and implemented; support initiatives
  • Manage the development of project‑specific procedures
Assuring Quality of Engineering Deliverables
  • Develop and manage schedule
  • Create and implement work plans for discipline and inter‑discipline interfaces; identify key dates, milestones, and deliverables, drive for completion; manage forecasts
  • Resolve escalated delays and changes; ensure recovery plans are implemented and reviewed
  • Create work share plan
Design Verification
  • Drive and participate in Design Verification; understand risk and mitigation requirements, and support change management
  • Use knowledge of conditions of contract to support decisions on schedules, key milestones, and change management
  • Understand customer needs and deliver satisfaction; actively monitor and support initiatives
  • Quantify effects of change project‑wide; develop mitigation plans against change and drive change management

Expected
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Typically requires 15 years in a project delivery environment
  • Experience in mega EPC/EPCm projects is required
  • Previous experience with ADNOC Projects/PMC would be an advantage but is not a limitation
  • Deep understanding of technical work scopes and commercial aspects of projects
  • Able to use conditions of contract to support decisions on schedules, key milestones, and change management
  • Good working and application knowledge of specifications and standards
  • Extensive experience in delivering to internal customers, including other engineering disciplines
  • Familiar with change management practices and able to robustly manage change
  • Expert knowledge of standards, procedures and work practices; follows project execution flow chart and develops skills in project and technical execution
  • Expert ability in application of procedures and work practices that govern engineering management and project engineering deliverables
  • Able to lead the Project Engineering team and manage between engineering discipline groups
  • Good communicator in leading work effort; motivates team; proactive attitude and strong positive approach
  • Competent at managing technical matters and interfaces with third parties
  • Able to manage and enhance performance and build an effective team
