Qualifications

Primary ICT Teacher | Computer Teacher for Primary School | Teach in Dubai

I am looking for a teacher of ICT that can deliver at primary level. My client is a leading international school in Dubai with over 1700 students from 85 different nationalities. The students are amazing to teach. The facilities are fantastic with the latest computers and interactive whiteboard.

The school is fully accredited by the British Schools Overseas (BSO), Council of International Schools, Cambridge Examination Board, Edexcel, and the International Baccalaureate. As a teacher of ICT you should have an excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Rasberry Pi, web authoring software and graphic design software. The ideal candidate will also be competent to deliver basic level programming.

The school is purpose-built to deliver a British Curriculum to the students. Most of the teachers at the school are British or Irish and the school has an excellent reputation in the community. Parents are fee paying and expect the best for the child and with a lot of hard‑work this is what the school is delivering.

Primary ICT Teacher Requirements

• Have a B.Ed in Primary Education with ICT specialism with QTS or a Bachelor’s degree in ICT/Computing or equivalent with a valid teaching qualification in Primary Education (with MFL‑French) e.g. PGCE/PGDE. Must have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
• Experience of the UK Primary National Curriculum is essential.
• Western‑trained.
• Have an excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Up to date with modern teaching pedagogy and practice.
• Experience of teaching in the UAE or GCC is preferred.
• Must be tech‑savvy to apply.
• Have an excellent working knowledge of using an IWB.
• Experience of using a VLE is required.
• Being able to speak Arabic is beneficial but not essential.

The students are very welcoming and because of the international nature of this school, languages is beneficial. The school has purpose‑built buildings to meet the needs of the teachers and students and all the classroom have interactive whiteboards. To apply to this school you should be tech‑savvy to use a smart board and ideally have experience of using VLE as the school is pro‑technology.

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa). Must be a native speaker of English. Newly Qualified Teachers are NOT considered. Prefer candidates with international experience. Open University qualification(s) are NOT accepted. Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted.

Additional: Having a Master's is beneficial to your application. Experience of teaching in the Middle East is beneficial to your application. Offering a secondary subject, this would help your application. Singles teachers or teaching couples with NO CHILDREN are preferred.
