Job description
Responsibilities

The successful applicant will conduct population epigenomics analyses on plants. The main foci of these analyses will be:

  • The identification of genes and epigenomic features that have evolved adaptively or play in the response to stress
  • The evolution of transposable elements in a population (epi)genomics context.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop an autonomous line of research related to the interests of the lab in evolutionary genomics. Motivated applicants with a strong background in evolutionary biology and bioinformatics and interested in leading crossdisciplinary research are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. Degree In Biology. Significant experience in one or more of the following is strongly desired:

  • Population genomic and epigenomics
  • Conduct a set of techniques in molecular biology by adapting the experimental conditions (apply health and safety rules extract and sequence DNA and RNA);
  • Run statistical and bioinformatic analyses
  • Transposable Elements Biology
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • The ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and scientific creativity are essential
