As Pastry Chef you will ensure that the set food and pastry standards are consistently maintained and improved. You will exhibit creative baking and decorating talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff in preparing quality and consistent pastries for all areas. In addition, you will develop daily specials and ensure a variety of menu items offering local specialties, and plan pastry inventory in accordance with the forecasted business levels. Collaborating with the food and beverage management team to continually improve guest and colleague satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget is also required. You must ensure that the sanitation and maintenance of equipment, proper rotation of food and usage of merchandise, are in accordance with food safety standards. You will also work with the Marketing & Public Relations team to support and maximise revenues and social media exposure.
The ideal candidate must have 3‑5 years of experience as a Junior Sous Chef, Pastry in an international luxury hotel or restaurant. The successful candidate must possess a culinary certificate and accredited education, comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and general health & safety in the workplace.
