Job summary

A leading hospitality group in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to create and develop a wide range of bakery and dessert items. You will collaborate with the Executive Chef to design seasonal menus, supervise a pastry team, and ensure high standards of quality and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have formal culinary training, proven experience in a hotel environment, and excellent leadership skills. Flexibility to work various shifts is essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a hotel or resort.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, and bakery items.
  • Design and develop new dessert menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  • Supervise and train pastry team members, providing guidance and motivation.
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards are followed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan prepare and produce a wide variety of pastries desserts and bakery items.
  • Design and develop new dessert menus and seasonal specials in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
  • Maintain consistency in taste presentation and quality.
  • Ensure proper storage handling and rotation of ingredients.
  • Monitor food cost portion control and minimize wastage.
  • Supervise and train pastry team members providing guidance and motivation.
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene sanitation and safety standards are strictly followed.
  • Stay updated with pastry trends techniques and innovations to enhance menu offerings.
  • Collaborate with banquet and restaurant teams to customize dessert menus for special events.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role in a hotel or resort.
  • Formal culinary/pastry training or equivalent certification.
  • Strong creative and artistic skills in pastry and dessert presentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety hygiene and HACCP standards.
  • Ability to lead train and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work weekends evenings and holidays as required.
