Role Context

The Operations Lead will manage end-to-end daily execution for Amazon Now across either one large site or a group of smaller locations. The role is responsible for ensuring store operations run safely, efficiently, and consistently while meeting customer experience, productivity, quality, and cost expectations. As part of a developing fast-delivery business model, the Operations Lead will combine frontline people management with process improvement, performance monitoring, operational auditing, and problem resolution. The position will also act as a stand-in for the Area Manager when required, making strong ownership and sound operational judgment essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily end-to-end Amazon Now operations across an assigned large site or group of smaller locations.
• Supervise third-party store operations and ensure execution remains aligned with Amazon operating standards.
• Monitor customer-facing metrics and take timely action when service performance falls below expectations.
• Maintain cost targets while protecting operational quality, safety, and team morale.
• Track under-the-roof and on-the-road productivity across assigned operations.
• Monitor associate performance across productivity, quality, attendance, safety, and execution standards.
• Provide regular coaching and constructive feedback to improve individual and team performance.
• Apply attendance and workplace policies fairly and consistently.
• Prepare training and development plans for associates based on operational and performance needs.
• Support onboarding and capability development for new team members.
• Identify recurring process weaknesses and implement practical improvements.
• Monitor the effect of operational changes to ensure performance gains are sustained.
• Conduct daily 4M audits covering Man, Machine, Method, and Material factors.
• Complete daily 5S audits to maintain organized, clean, safe, and efficient operating areas.
• Follow up on audit findings and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Promote a strong safety culture and address hazards or unsafe practices promptly.
• Maintain team engagement and morale in a fast-paced operations environment.
• Review daily metrics and prioritize operational actions according to customer and business impact.
• Coordinate staffing and workload according to forecast demand and site requirements.
• Escalate significant operational risks and service issues through the appropriate management channels.
• Work with supporting teams to resolve problems affecting customer experience, productivity, or cost.
• Maintain accurate records covering performance, attendance, audits, and operational activities.
• Support the introduction of new processes and operating models as Amazon Now expands.
• Stand in for the Area Manager when required and maintain operational continuity.
• Promote an ownership mindset and encourage associates to contribute to safer and more efficient ways of working.
