Our client is a dynamic global enterprise based in the UAE.

For over four decades they have delivered impactful solutions across diverse sectors, including petroleum trading, logistics, auto spare parts, solar energy distribution, and agro-strategic commodities.

We are seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Trader with a minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in trading crude oil and refined petroleum products. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial exposure in African markets and CIS countries, with proven experience working directly with small to medium‑sized refineries. The role demands strong analytical capability, full trade‑cycle management, and the ability to develop new markets and profitable trade flows.

Responsibilities
  • Source, negotiate, and execute trades for crude oil and refined products.
  • Build and manage a profitable trading portfolio focused on Africa and CIS regions.
  • Conduct daily market pricing, cost analysis, P&L evaluation, and risk management.
  • Identify new buyers, suppliers, and commercial opportunities across targeted regions.
  • Manage relationships with small-to-medium refineries, including supply planning and operational coordination.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts (Incoterms, GAFTA/FOSFA, payment terms, etc.).
  • Coordinate with operations, logistics, legal, shipping, and finance teams to ensure flawless execution.
  • Oversee shipment processes via vessels, barges, rail, trucks, or containers.
  • Monitor Platts/Argus pricing, freight markets, refinery margins, and global supply/demand trends.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a physical Oil & Gas Trader.
  • Proven trading exposure in both African and CIS markets.
  • Experience working with small-to-medium refineries.
  • Strong understanding of international commodity contracts, Incoterms, and trade finance.
  • Solid operational knowledge including shipping, documentation, inspections, and logistics.
  • Fluent in English, additional languages such as Arabic or Russian is a strong advantage.
  • Experience dealing with mixed-transport logistics (vessels, barges, rail, containers, trucks).
  • Knowledge of GAFTA, FOSFA, BP, STASCO, and other GTC frameworks.
  • Experience managing full trade life cycle from contract to delivery.
  • Strong analytical capability to evaluate P&L, risks, and market positions.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced international markets.
  • Highly motivated, commercially driven, and proactive.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational capability.
  • Ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously and make independent decisions.
