Role Purpose

The Mechanical Inspector will support high‑rise buildings and land development projects in the UAE. Responsibilities include responding to inspection requests, conducting site inspections, reviewing shop drawings, reporting non‑compliant work, monitoring HSE and environmental issues, applying quality assurance procedures, maintaining reports, preparing surveillance and non‑conformance reports, coordinating disciplines and providing technical assistance for electrical issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to and attend inspection requests submitted by contractors.
  • Conduct site inspections when required by the Resident Engineer (RE) and Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE).
  • Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications and ensure local codes and statutory requirements are adhered to.
  • Report any work executed by the contractor that is not compliant with approved specifications and inform stakeholders where necessary.
  • Monitor work and assess HSE and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual specifications and HSE and risk assessments.
  • Apply and implement quality assurance and quality control procedures for the site.
  • Maintain reports for all site activities, including progress reports, ensuring they are readily available for inspection.
  • Prepare surveillance and non‑conformance reports (NCR) if required.
  • Ensure effective coordination between various disciplines.
  • Provide technical assistance to resolve any electrical issues that may arise.
Candidate Specification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally accredited university.
  • Significant experience in electrical engineering.
  • Proven experience of all electrical components is a must.
  • Continuous innovation and improvements to manage workload and accomplish deliverables across individuals, teams and projects.
  • Leadership skills to build and nurture relationships and create effective working environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams with diverse backgrounds on geographically and culturally diverse teams.
