Job Overview
The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining various machinery used in the production process. The role involves ensuring equipment efficiency, adhering to safety and quality standards, identifying operational issues, and coordinating with the production and maintenance teams to achieve daily production targets. The ideal candidate should possess practical machine-handling experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate machines and production equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and operational standards.
- Monitor machine performance, adjust machine settings, and ensure smooth functioning throughout the shift.
- Inspect finished products for defects, verify quality specifications, and ensure output meets required standards.
- Perform routine machine checks, cleaning, and basic preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Identify mechanical or operational issues and elevate complex problems to the maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine logs, and downtime reports.
- Load raw materials and maintain inventory of materials needed for continuous operation.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Participate in production meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in equipment setup, calibration, and changeovers as required.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma / ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant technical discipline.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems involved in machine operation.
- Understanding of production processes, safety practices, and quality control standards.
Skills Required
- Ability to read and understand machine manuals, process instructions, and control panel indicators.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect abnormalities and product defects.
- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long hours in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
