About the job LEAD PIPING ENGINEER
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Piping Engineer to join our engineering team for major onshore oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in piping engineering across FEED and Detailed Engineering phases, with proven leadership capability and experience working on ADNOC projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and manage all piping engineering activities during FEED and Detailed Engineering phases.
- Develop, review, and approve piping engineering deliverables including piping design documents, layouts, calculations, and engineering reports.
- Oversee the preparation and validation of piping specifications, design basis, and engineering procedures in line with project requirements.
- Review and approve vendor documents related to piping components, valves, and engineered items.
- Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil/structural, and instrumentation teams to ensure proper integration of piping design.
- Ensure all piping engineering work complies with ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API standards, and ADNOC specifications.
- Provide technical leadership during procurement activities including technical bid evaluations (TBE) and vendor document reviews.
- Support development of Material Requisitions (MRs), Bill of Quantities (BOQs), and Material Take-Offs (MTOs) (without material selection or material engineering scope).
- Participate in model reviews, design reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior piping engineers and designers.
- Ensure piping engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 1518+ years of experience in piping engineering for onshore oil and gas projects, with significant experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering stages.
- Strong understanding of piping design, layout engineering, stress considerations, piping supports, and engineering workflows.
- Excellent knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM, and international codes and standards applicable to piping engineering.
- Strong coordination skills with multi-disciplinary design teams.
- Proven experience in vendor interfaces and engineering contractor environments.
- ADNOC project experience is a strong advantage.
