Job Responsibilities
  • Provide courteous, professional, and flexible service at all times following Rixos Hotels Standards of Performance.
  • Perform all duties and tasks in the assigned place of work.
  • Work in an environment of teamwork and lateral service.
  • Undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief Steward and Supervisor.
  • Be entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within different sub-departments of the Food & Beverage Division or any other Department as assigned.
  • Strictly adhere to the opening and closing procedures established for the department.
  • Be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures established for the place of work as assigned.
  • Ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
  • Understand and apply HACCP procedures and their purpose.
  • Monitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage.
  • Perform general cleaning duties as assigned by the Assistant Chief Steward or Stewarding Supervisor.
  • Clean and wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils according to performance standards.
  • Empty rubbish bins according to garbage schedules.
  • Use dishwashing machines and chemicals properly.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized at all times.
  • Handle guest and employee inquiries courteously and report complaints to supervisors.
  • Attend and contribute to all staff meetings, departmental and hotel trainings, and related activities.
  • Assist in carrying out monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly, and yearly inventory of operating equipment.
  • Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag; maintain high personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to hotel and department appearance standards.
  • Provide friendly, courteous, professional service at all times.
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
  • Comply with local legislation as required.
  • Respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
  • Be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required to meet business demands and guest service needs.
  • Attend training and meetings as and when required.
