Job summary

A consulting firm in Abu Dhabi seeks an Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with UAE laws, and process payroll. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, possess 1-2 years of related UAE experience, and be skilled in tax compliance and financial reporting. Strong communication skills and fluency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite are essential, with knowledge of Tally System preferred. Immediate availability is preferred.

Job description
Accountant Duties & Responsibilities in the UAE

Maintain accurate books of accounts in compliance with UAE accounting standards (IFRS).

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.

VAT & Compliance

Prepare and file VAT returns in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.

Ensure compliance with corporate tax, excise, and other UAE laws.

Maintain proper documentation for audits and tax inspections.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.

Monitor expenses vs. budgets and provide variance analysis.

Support management with financial planning and cost control.

Payroll & Employee Benefits

Process monthly payroll in compliance with UAE labour laws and WPS requirements.

Calculate end-of-service benefits (gratuity) as per UAE Labour Law.

Handle staff reimbursements and allowances.

Banking & Cash Flow Management

Prepare and monitor cash flow statements.

Manage bank reconciliations and liaise with banks for facilities or transactions.

Oversee petty cash management and fund allocations.

  • General Administrative Support
    • Coordinate with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders for financial matters.
    • Prepare management reports and assist in strategic decision-making.
    • Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and follow-up on outstanding payments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or related field with 1-2 years of relevant UAE experience
  • Professional Accounting/Finance Qualification is an asset (CFA, CPA, CMA, ACCA)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Fluency in Google Suite and Tally System is a must.
  • Speaking Arabic would be an asset.
  • Preferably Filipino Candidates
