Job summary

A luxury hotel chain in Dubai seeks an experienced IT Supervisor to manage IT-related operations and ensure systems are running optimally. Responsibilities include assisting guests with technology issues, maintaining computer networks, and supervising IT staff. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in IT and has over two years of experience in luxury hotels. Strong technical skills and excellent English communication are essential for this role.

Qualifications

As IT Supervisor, I will behave in a professional manner and set an example to all. Responsibilities
  • Assist guests in any resort information technology issues.
  • Assist guests in any resort information technology issues.
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components and perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
  • Operate master consoles to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
  • Ensure to perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control records.
  • Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software.
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
  • Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
  • The ability to assist in training, supervising, scheduling, motivating, positively discipline of IT hosts.
  • Assist in planning and implementing procedures, systems and controls to ensure an efficient, timely and pro-active engineering department.
  • Monitor hosts activity, productivity, Utilization rates and manage accordingly. Advise Engineering Manager of downtime or delays in completion of tasks.
  • Assist in managing day to day duties and job assignments. Provide support to the team where required. Allocate manning where needed.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene.
  • Knowledge of all safety, security and emergency procedures related to my position in line with brand and statutory requirements.
  • Ensure the privacy of guests, partners and residential owners, I will apply an extra level of protection to any sensitive personal data and use confidential information only to perform my job.
  • Ensure all equipment of the department is kept clean and in good working condition.
  • Knowledge and strict adherence to LQA standards.
Qualifications

To execute the position of IT Supervisor, I have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar or greater role in luxury hotels with proven results. I possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and more than two years’ experience in a similar hotel operational role.

Technical skills include very strong design skills, concept skills, expert knowledge of the Microsoft XP Suite, strong working knowledge of SMS 2003, Microsoft Sharepoint services and Veritas Backup Exec Anti-virus & Spyware tools and Intrusion Prevention and Detection solutions.

I have an excellent command of written and spoken English with some knowledge of the local language and customs.
