Summary

The Houseman is responsible for ensuring that guest rooms are clean, well-maintained, and prepared for check-in. This includes performing cleaning tasks, replenishing amenities, and providing excellent service to enhance guest satisfaction and the overall guest experience. The Houseman plays a key role in maintaining the hotel's cleanliness standards and promoting a comfortable environment for all guests.

Responsibilities
  • Report for duty promptly, wearing the correct uniform and nametag consistently.
  • Clean and service guest rooms by vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and wiping surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, and windows, following the Sequence of Service and Standard Operating Procedures established by management.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or missing items to the Housekeeping Supervisor or maintenance team.
  • Ensure all amenities (e.g., soap, shampoo, linens) are properly set up according to standards and in good condition.
  • Respond to guest requests for additional items such as extra pillows, towels, or blankets promptly and courteously.
  • Follow all safety and hygiene procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ensure the safe storage and use of cleaning supplies.
  • Assist in organizing and preparing the room for special guest requests or services.
  • Maintain communication with the front desk regarding room availability and status.
  • Keep track of inventory levels and notify the supervisor when supplies need replenishing.
  • Submit lost and found items to security in accordance with the policy.
  • Report valuable items to security as per the security guidelines.
  • Assist in other housekeeping tasks or departmental projects as needed.
  • Provide guests with a courteous and professional service at all times.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management to support the effective operation of the department and the broader goals of the property.
