About Wynn Al Marjan Island: On schedule to open in the United Arab Emirates in Spring 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island has been created as an opulent and entertaining beachside destination for discerning guests to play and relax. Located less than 50 minutes from Dubai International Airport, this integrated resort offering 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants and lounges, a theatre, nightclub, and five-star spa is currently under construction on a picturesque island that gracefully curves into the Arabian Gulf.
About The Position
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Head of Rigging to join the resort's Entertainment Administration team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the team in establishing and maintaining the safe and consistent operations of all rigging systems for each rehearsal and performance.
- Support the production team by assisting with the planning and strategy of the load-in and the creative / rehearsal process.
- Develop the strategy and planning for the rigging installation, safety, training and operation.
- Install, assemble, hang, construct and maintain all rigging equipment and show elements such as lighting and scenery.
- Coordinate the overhead stage equipment through load-in and rehearsals in conjunction with audio, automation, lighting and carpentry.
- Participate in the ongoing development of an inspection of the rigging installations.
- Create and maintain a fall protection training program in coordination with Technical Management.
- Advise all departments on matters of overhead safety and fall protection.
- Oversee operations of and troubleshoot the rigging systems during rehearsals and performances.
- Monitor all rigging systems and provide adequate oversight and supervision to maintain a safe environment.
- Establish and maintain training and backup plans to ensure continuity in performance operations for the rigging department.
- Produce yearly department budgets, manage the department's budgets and capital expense projections and oversee the supply, replacement and inventory of consumables.
- Work with the Resident Director on required changes and ongoing development of the show.
- Document, monitor and update the rigging installation specifications, inventory of rigging materials and equipment and all pertinent inspection and maintenance records.
- Support the performers at all times by assisting and guiding their interaction with all show elements and technical staff.
- Support the Executive Director of Technical Operations in creating an atmosphere that maximizes productivity and minimizes costs.
- Establish emergency procedures for show systems with Stage Management and the technical team; ensure all department staff are trained and familiar with these procedures.
About You
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience as a Head Rigger for a large-scale theatrical or production show.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in conventional theatrical rigging.
- Experience with motorized and manual rigging systems and acrobatic rigging installations.
- Knowledge of sport climbing hardware is an asset.
- Knowledge of fall protection is required.
- Knowledge of rigging systems & hardware and fall protection systems & hardware.
- ETCP Certification preferred or willing to obtain in the first year of hire.
