Responsibilities
Landscaping & Garden Maintenance
  • Supervise daily gardening operations, including planting, watering, pruning, mowing, fertilizing, and pest control.
  • Ensure all landscaped areas, lawns, flower beds, and decorative plants are well-maintained and aligned with the hotel’s aesthetic standards.
  • Monitor plant health and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Plan seasonal landscaping and garden enhancement projects.
2. Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Lead, train, and schedule the gardening team to ensure effective performance and productivity.
  • Conduct regular briefings and assign daily tasks to team members.
  • Provide coaching and support to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor attendance, discipline, and overall performance of gardening staff.
3. Equipment & Material Management
  • Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of gardening tools, machinery, and equipment (mowers, trimmers, irrigation systems, etc.).
  • Maintain inventory of plants, soil, fertilizers, tools, and other materials.
  • Request necessary supplies in a timely manner to support continuous operations.
4. Irrigation & Water Management
  • Oversee operation and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure adequate watering of all areas.
  • Troubleshoot irrigation issues and coordinate repairs with the Engineering team if required.
5. Safety, Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure all gardening work is performed in compliance with safety procedures and environmental guidelines.
  • Report hazards, damaged facilities, or potential risks to the Engineering Manager.
  • Implement eco-friendly practices whenever possible.
6. Collaboration & Reporting
  • Coordinate with the Engineering Department and other hotel teams (Housekeeping, Recreation, etc.) for outdoor area requirements.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports on garden maintenance activities, staff performance, and material usage.
  • Assist in planning landscaping budgets and improvement projects.
Requirements
  • Diploma or certification in Landscaping, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in gardening or landscaping; supervisory experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of tropical plants, soil, irrigation, and pest control.
  • Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Good understanding of plant species suitable for coastal/tropical environments.
  • Ability to maintain large outdoor areas such as beaches, pathways, recreational spaces, and natural landscapes.
  • Awareness of sustainability practices and environmental protection measures for island ecosystems.
