Job summary

A leading e-commerce company in Dubai is seeking an Executive to oversee end-to-end accounting operations for two UAE-based entities. The candidate will manage general ledger activities, prepare financial statements, and support budgeting and forecasting processes. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required along with proficiency in accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or SAP. Ideal candidates are collaborative team players with advanced Excel skills and knowledge of accounting standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP / IFRS).
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics and/or SAP.

Job description

The Executive will oversee end-to-end accounting operations for two UAE-based entities. The role is part of a four-member accounting team. The Executive is stationery responsible independently and provide cross-coverage to support team members during periods of leave.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Monitor daily collections and ensure timely and accurate daily uploads
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including variance analysis
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations (bank, supplier, intercompany, etc.)leden
  • Prepare payment vouchers and update bank positions to ensure all payments are accurately reflected
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and ensure intercompany balances with HQ are reconciled and up to date
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Assist the Financial Controller with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Review and process staff expense claims, ensuring adherence to company policies
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation
  • Coordinate with tax advisors on statutory filings and reporting (VAT and Corporate Income Tax)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP / IFRS)
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics and/or SAP (preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • A collaborative team player who is proactive in supporting colleagues while meeting deadlines
  • Prior experience in e-commerce is an advantage but not mandatory
