JOB CONTENT

Responsible for developing custom machinery automation systems and mechatronic solutions. This role encompasses the entire design lifecycle including concept development, detailed design, prototyping, and providing support during fabrication and commissioning while adhering to company and industry standards.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop innovative and functional designs for automated machines, special-purpose machines (SPMs), and mechanical systems using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or equivalent).
  • Integrate mechanical, electrical, and control systems to develop complete mechatronic solutions.
  • Conduct design calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis to optimize performance, durability, and manufacturability.
  • Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and assembly documentation to support production.
  • Collaborate closely with internal maintenance team and external OEMs to ensure smooth and effective integration of all subsystems.
  • Oversee and support prototype development, functional testing, and troubleshooting during assembly and commissioning phases to ensure manufacturability. Analyze test results and refine designs for optimal efficiency.
  • Lead design reviews, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and risk assessments to enhance design reliability.
  • Work closely with procurement team to source high-quality materials.
  • Ensure all designs meet industry safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, modifications, and technical specifications ensuring compliance with ISO standards and quality management protocols. Support audit requirements by systematically recording design changes, validation reports, and process improvements.
  • Provide post‑design assistance to production and maintenance teams resolving design‑related challenges during assembly etc.
  • Identify opportunities for design improvements to enhance machine performance and implement innovative solutions to reduce costs and improve reliability.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine manufacturing technologies, including innovations in automation, materials, and engineering methodologies to enhance efficiency and performance.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements.
  • Adhere to and follow the policies and procedures outlined in the AS 9100:2016 QMS for Aviation, Space, and Defense.
  • Participate actively in the ongoing development and enhancement of the AS 9100:2016 QMS to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Keep up‑to‑date with the latest AS 9100:2016 QMS standards & practices to support both personal & professional growth.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of AS 9100:2016 QMS processes and practices within the organization.
  • Perform any other job(s) / task(s) assigned by the line manager to accomplish department objectives.
Education / Qualifications

B. Tech or Diploma in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience

3-6 years of experience in machine design or automation system development preferably within machine‑making companies. Experience with simulation tools and rapid prototyping.

Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, NX, etc.).
Solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, sensors, and actuators.
Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and embedded control systems is a plus.
Analytical and problem‑solving skills for troubleshooting design issues.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Capable of handling multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
