We are seeking an Executive Chef responsible for the overall operation of the kitchen, including menu planning and development, purchasing and inventory management, staff training and development, food preparation and presentation, sanitation standards and more.

Job Summary

As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing and serving high-quality meals according to established recipes while ensuring all food safety regulations are followed. You will also ensure that the kitchen runs efficiently by assigning tasks to kitchen staff as necessary.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the overall operation of the kitchen and ensure smooth daily kitchen activities.
  • Plan and develop menus with consideration for quality, cost, and presentation.
  • Manage purchasing and inventory to control costs and minimize waste.
  • Train and develop kitchen staff, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
  • Ensure food preparation and presentation meet high standards and established recipes.
  • Maintain sanitation and food safety standards in accordance with regulations.
  • Delegate tasks to kitchen staff and monitor work to ensure efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience Required
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a professional kitchen or a culinary school degree/diploma.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong organizational abilities.
  • Creative with menu ideas while able to adhere to established recipes and procedures when necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license; some travel may be necessary for purchasing supplies or visiting other restaurants in the area.
