About the Role
The Events Manager position is a mid-to-senior level role responsible for the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse range of events and experiences within the hospitality sector. This role is pivotal in shaping memorable guest experiences, ensuring operational excellence, and upholding the highest standards of service. The Events and Experiences Manager will have a direct impact on client satisfaction, brand reputation, and the overall success of hospitality offerings in Sharjah’s dynamic market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, planning, and execution of a wide variety of events, including corporate functions, social gatherings, weddings, conferences, and themed experiences tailored to the hospitality industry.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams such as sales, marketing, culinary, and operations to ensure seamless event delivery and alignment with brand standards.
- Develop detailed event proposals, budgets, and timelines, ensuring all logistical, technical, and creative aspects are meticulously managed.
- Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and relationship management with suppliers, entertainers, decorators, and technology providers.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and hospitality industry best practices throughout all event phases.
- Supervise on-site event setup, execution, and breakdown, providing hands‑on leadership and troubleshooting to guarantee flawless delivery.
- Manage guest relations before, during, and after events, addressing client needs, special requests, and feedback to ensure high satisfaction levels.
- Analyze event outcomes, prepare post‑event reports, and implement continuous improvement strategies based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Coordinate marketing and promotional activities for events in partnership with the marketing team, leveraging digital platforms and social media.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior event staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professional growth.
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience (5+ years) in event management within the hospitality industry, with a strong portfolio of successfully executed events.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, including negotiation, client liaison, and conflict resolution.
- In-depth knowledge of event logistics, vendor management, and hospitality operations.
- Proficiency in event management software (such as Cvent, Eventbrite, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Creative problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances or client requirements.
- Familiarity with local cultural norms, customs, and regulatory requirements relevant to events in Sharjah and the UAE.
- Financial acumen for budget planning, cost control, and ROI analysis.
- Experience in digital marketing, social media promotion, and event branding is highly advantageous.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Professional certifications in event planning (such as CMP, CSEP, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
- Advanced training in health and safety, food and beverage management, or customer service is considered an asset.
- Multilingual abilities, especially proficiency in English and Arabic, are advantageous for client and vendor communications.
