JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for executing and following up on autonomous transportation systems projects and initiatives in accordance with the autonomous mobility strategy.
KEY RESULTS ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Line Manager or Head of Department
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on all technical matters related to the trial, testing, and deployment of autonomous transportation systems at the RTA level
- Contribute to reviewing and updating the autonomous transportation strategy and related programs
- Arrange and conduct training for internal operations and technical management staff, as needed, to ensure awareness of recent changes and developments in all autonomous systems operations and strategies
- Support the implementation of autonomous transportation modes, including automated taxis, autonomous buses, and autonomous marine vessels
- Arrange periodic inspections to ensure that the unified automated toll system operator’s performance is aligned with standards and free from deviations
- Conduct evaluations of autonomous vehicle trials, road infrastructure, and permits
- Review and evaluate the performance and operations of autonomous vehicles and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
- Monitor system integration tests, operational readiness, and the implementation of new autonomous systems
- Review and assess the current strategy and key performance indicators (KPIs) for autonomous projects
- Support infrastructure teams in preparing technical specifications for take‑off and landing stations (vertiports), electric charging networks, and navigation and communication systems
- Participate in technical and operational studies for air taxi vehicles, including engineering design reviews and assessments of certification and safety requirements
- Prepare technical and engineering reports on vehicle and infrastructure readiness and provide recommendations to management regarding required improvements
- Contribute to prototype testing and monitor technical performance reports to ensure compliance with civil aviation standards and safety requirements
- Participate in research and development initiatives to test innovative solutions in electric propulsion, artificial intelligence for navigation, and the integration of air taxis into Dubai’s smart transportation network
- Coordinate with airlines, manufacturers, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance with international legislation and standards – strictly adhere to RTA information security policies, procedures, and processes
- Strictly follow the information security data sharing guidelines for all internal and external data transfers
- Immediately report any information security incidents to your line manager and IT support for prompt guidance and resolution
- Actively participate in all assigned information security training and awareness sessions to enhance your knowledge and address potential information security risks
- Always comply with instructions and guidance provided by your line manager in line with the information security requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aviation sciences, civil engineering, or a related field from an accredited university. 0–2 years’ experience in the field.
