Job summary

A financial services firm in Dubai is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, handling VAT filing, and ensuring compliance with UAE regulations. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, professional certifications (CA, CMA, ACCA preferred), and at least 25 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE. Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 25 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and accounting practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
• Manage VAT filing and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and internal reviews.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, and external consultants when required.
• Support management with financial analysis and MIS reporting.

Skills

Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Zoho Books)

Strong knowledge of MS Excel

Good understanding of financial controls and compliance

High attention to detail and accuracy

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks

Good communication and coordination skills

Education

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
