Job summary

A leading contracting firm in the UAE is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee contractual matters on infrastructure and building projects. The role requires 8-12 years of UAE/GCC experience, particularly with FIDIC contracts. The ideal candidate will lead negotiations, ensure compliance with local laws, and handle claims. Proficiency in Arabic is mandatory, along with strong analytical and leadership skills. This position offers a competitive salary of 28-30k AED per month based on experience.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of UAE/GCC experience in contract administration.
• Proven track record of handling and settling claims.
• Experience with FIDIC contracts (Red, Yellow, Silver Books preferred).
• Experience on international or large-scale projects is desirable.

Job description

• Administer and manage all contractual matters in compliance with FIDIC contracts, UAE laws, and CITIC Construction policies.
• Provide contractual and commercial advice to project teams on UAE-based infrastructure and building projects.
• Prepare, submit, and manage variations, claims, and extensions of time in accordance with contract conditions and local practices.
• Lead negotiations with UAE clients, consultants, authorities, and subcontractors to achieve favorable commercial outcomes.
• Monitor project cost control, budgets, cash flow, and forecasts in line with UAE project requirements.
• Review, assess, and certify subcontractor payment applications and final accounts in accordance with UAE payment practices.
• Ensure compliance with UAE construction laws, regulations, and statutory requirements, including contractual notices and timelines.
• Maintain accurate contract records, correspondence, and documentation to support audits, claims, and dispute resolution in the UAE.
• Support dispute avoidance and resolution, including amicable settlements, expert determination, arbitration, and UAE courts, as required.
• Prepare regular reports for senior management on contractual risks, commercial exposure, and project performance within the UAE.

Skills

Education & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Work Experience: 8-12 years of UAE/GCC experience,including a proven track record of handling and successfully settling claims.
• Professional Certifications:
• Strong experience with FIDIC contracts (Red, Yellow, Silver Books preferred).
• Experience working on international or large-scale projects is highly desirable.
• Professional certification (MRICS, LLM, PMP, or equivalent) is an advantage.

Language & Skills:

• Mandatory: Fluent inArabic(speaking, reading, writing).
• Computer Skills:Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and contract management tools.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management ability.
• Familiarity with UAE construction laws, local authorities' procedures, and commercial practices.
