Job description

We are looking for an exceptional Consultant NICU Neonatologist to join our experienced team. In this pivotal role, you will provide specialized care and consultation for critically ill newborns in our state-of-the-art Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). You will collaborate closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients and support their families through complex medical challenges.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating and managing critically ill neonates with complex medical issues
  • Providing expert guidance on the diagnosis and treatment of neonatal conditions
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive, individualized care plans
  • Mentoring and supervising junior staff, residents, and medical students in the NICU
  • Communicating effectively with families regarding their newborn's health status, treatment options, and care decisions
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research projects
  • Staying current with advancements in neonatal medicine to ensure best practices are utilized in patient care
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of a residency in Pediatrics followed by a fellowship in Neonatology
  • Board certification in Neonatology is required
  • Active medical license in the relevant state
  • A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a NICU setting preferred
  • Strong clinical skills, with the ability to make sound medical decisions
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for successful team collaboration and family interactions
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and educate medical staff
