Job Title: Carpenter

Responsibilities

• Constructing, installing and repairing structures made out of wood, metal, drywall or other materials.
• Inspecting structures periodically and determining the need for repairs or replacements.
• Assembling window frames, doors, staircases and framework.
• Measuring and cutting materials according to specifications.
• Installing kitchen cabinets and countertops.
• Utilizing power tools such as drills and saws to cut wood accurately.
• Ensuring that all safety standards are met when using equipment or completing tasks.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in carpentry work is essential; certification from a technical school is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read blueprints and drawings accurately.
• Excellent manual dexterity with hand tools such as saws, hammers, chisels etc.
• Knowledge of woodworking machinery such as routers, jointers etc.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time on ladders or scaffolding when necessary.
• Good physical strength in order to lift heavy materials when needed
