Job summary

A construction engineering firm based in the UAE is seeking a BIM Engineer, open exclusively to UAE National applicants. The role involves assisting in the creation and production of BIM models covering various architectural and MEP systems. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Engineering or Construction Management, with 2-3 years of relevant experience, and possess strong knowledge in tools like Autodesk Revit and Navisworks. BIM Engineer (UAE National)

Job Title: BIM Engineer

Direct Reports to: Senior BIM Engineer/BIM Coordinator

Job Description Summary

The BIM Engineer assists the Senior BIM Engineer in the creation and production of BIM models including structure, interior and exterior architectural elements, and MEP systems (as applicable).

As part of the Virtual Construction Organization, the BIM Engineer gets exposed to all aspects of a BIM project (BIM Modeling, Model Administration, Documentation, Scheduling, Coordination of RFIs (Request for Information), Library Creation, 4D Simulations, etc.) and is expected to demonstrate the necessary working knowledge of project guidelines, processes and techniques to deliver BIM projects profitably, meeting the time, resources and budget objectives of the project.

The BIM Engineer may be requested to support and guide Junior BIM Engineers part of the same discipline or project.

General Responsibilities
  • Create and Maintain BIM Models for Project Specific Requirements
  • Assist the creation and production of BIM models including structure, interior and exterior architectural elements and MEP systems (as applicable)
  • Update as‑built and revised Building Information Model and maintain revision log
  • Assist in preparation of documentation necessary for the distribution of RFIs (Request for Information)
  • Maintain revised BIM Models showing changes and RFI answers
  • Create new library components
  • 4D Schedules
  • Participate in development of the modeling schedule
  • Prepare 4D simulations
  • Assist in the development of coordination schedules
  • Trade Coordination
  • Assist to set‑up and maintain all control logs (RFIs, shop drawings, as‑builts, etc)
  • Field Coordination
  • Assist project team with construction coordination and scheduling.
  • Print drawing sets for team review.
  • Export DWF and other formats for collaboration internally and externally.
  • Prepare 3D models and dimension shop drawing sheets for field use and review.
  • Identifying model constructability issues and propose solutions.
  • Create job layout driven by 3D model data.

  • Timely and accurate preparation of BIM models, shop drawings, etc.
  • Provide daily and weekly timesheets.
  • Demonstrate a deep interest in learning new skills and knowledge.

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Effectively complete the required job tasks with minimal supervision.
Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2‑3 years project experience Engineer, Entry Level Engineer, or equivalent.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and understanding of construction methods, processes, and systems.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of common construction terminology and nomenclature as well as various building types and systems.
  • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and BIM modeling.
  • Good knowledge in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks etc.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal English and Arabic language communication skills.
  • Ability to use judgment, problem‑solving ability, self‑starting and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors.
