Job Purpose
The Retail Leasing Agent (Associate) is responsible for leasing vacant retail spaces, attracting quality tenants, assisting in negotiations, and ensuring a seamless leasing process to support the achievement of occupancy and revenue targets. The role involves proactive marketing, strong client relationship management, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Roles, Responsibilities, Duties
- Source, attract, and qualify prospective tenants for available retail units in the portfolio.
- Conduct property tours and present retail spaces to prospective tenants and tenant representatives.
- Respond promptly and professionally to leasing inquiries, providing relevant information and maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Assist in preparing and negotiating lease offers, Letters of Intent (LOIs), and tenancy agreements in line with company policies and procedures.
- Collect and review tenant documentation including company profiles, financials, and fit-out proposals.
- Liaise with legal, property management, and facilities teams to facilitate tenant move-ins and ensure compliance with all requirements.
- Conduct market and competitor research to support pricing decisions and keep management informed of trends.
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions, negotiations, and tenant data using the leasing management system.
- Attend networking events, property expos, and meetings with brokers to generate leasing leads.
- Support the Retail Leasing Manager with reports, market analysis, and ad hoc projects as required.
- Ensure all leasing activities comply with company standards as well as relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience and Competencies
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in retail or commercial leasing; experience in a real estate or retail environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Customer service oriented with a strong sales drive.
- Understanding of retail real estate markets and leasing practices.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and leasing management systems.
