What youll be doing
- Commitment to the ethos of Emirates British Nursery.
- Ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times both within the Nursery and outside the Nursery perimeter.
- Undertaking activities with all children to ensure their safety and facilitate their physical, emotional and educational development.
- Carry out planned educational activities and programmes of learning whilst promoting independent learning.
- Provide a high standard of care and education.
- Work to establish a supportive relationship with children and parents, concerned and interact with them according to their individual needs.
- Encourage acceptance and inclusion of all children and use appropriate skills to adapt activities necessary to meet the needs of all students.
- Monitor, assess and record children's individual needs.
- Develop action plans where necessary to support children's learning.
- Be responsible for the care, welfare, health and safety, and security of all children within the Nursery.
- Ensure no physical punishments or punishments that would cause humiliation to a child.
- Act as a positive role model and encourage positive behaviour in line with the Nursery’s policies and procedures.
- Assist with the physical care of the children within the Nursery.
- Assume responsibility for the preparation of displays, ensuring they stimulate vocal and receptive responses.
- Respect all families’ diversity and cultures.
- Undertake good and effective communication with all staff, parents, guardians and carers.
- Actively participate in training programmes, attending professional development activities as appropriate and actively contribute to their annual appraisal.
- Contribute to the social and extra‑curriculum activities of the Nursery and assist with the organisation of such as required.
- Leave the Nursery ready for the following session, ensuring that plans are ready to be implemented and resources are available.
- All letters to parents must be authorised by management.
- All preparation work must be prepared at least one day in advance between 7:30‑8:00 am and 12:30‑1:00 pm; preparations should not take place whilst children are in class.
- All photocopying must be given to the administration.
- Staff should complete a requisition sheet for stationary and stock and give it to the administration; Arabic/Islamic Teachers are responsible for all items in their classroom.
- The practitioner’s responsibility is to ensure the teaching assistant works collectively to meet the needs of the individual child.
- Ensure their own health and safety and adhere to the Nursery policies and procedures.
- Any other duties deemed appropriate by management.
Qualifications and Trainings
- University degree in Early Childhood / Education or other specialisation, accompanied by a certified vocational certificate in the care and education of early childhood children (Level III).
- Or a high school diploma, combined with a certified vocational certificate in the care and education of early childhood children (Level III) with at least two years of experience in the care or education of children.
- Attend all induction training.
- Have evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the post.
