Shangri-La Group is seeking an experienced and dynamic Arabic-speaking Account Director to lead and oversee relationships with corporate clients, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and leisure sectors across the GCC. Based in Dubai, this role is essential for driving revenue growth, enhancing the visibility of Shangri-La's luxury properties, and fostering strong relationships within the region's corporate MICE and leisure industries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record with a luxury hotel brand, an established network within the corporate MICE and leisure sectors, and the ability to travel easily within the GCC to support regional sales efforts.

As an Account Director, we rely on you to:

  • Sales Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive sales plan targeting corporate clients, MICE, and leisure sectors, maximizing revenue potential for Shangri-La's properties in the region. Ensure alignment with global sales objectives and company goals.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with key decision-makers in corporate organizations, MICE planners, and industry influencers across the GCC region.
  • New Business Development: Identify new business opportunities within the corporate MICE and leisure sectors, creating a strong pipeline of potential clients and partnerships to drive future revenue streams.
  • Account Management: Oversee and grow existing corporate MICE and leisure accounts, ensuring excellent client satisfaction, retention, and continued revenue growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams including Marketing, Operations, Revenue Management, and the Global Sales Team to develop tailored packages and offerings that meet the needs of corporate clients and MICE organizers.
  • Event & Promotion Management: Plan, execute, and support events, promotions, and conferences targeting the corporate and MICE sectors. Ensure the successful implementation of such initiatives and strong client participation.
  • Reporting & Insights: Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance, market trends, competitor activity, and client feedback. Use these insights to improve strategies and achieve sales goals.
  • Contract Negotiation & Pricing: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients, ensuring all agreements adhere to Shangri-La's policies and global standards.
  • Industry Representation: Represent Shangri-La at key industry events, conferences, and trade shows throughout the GCC, ensuring the company's strong presence in the regional luxury hotel and MICE markets.
  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure compliance with all company policies and local regulations across all aspects of sales and client engagement. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a proven focus on the corporate MICE and leisure sectors.
  • A solid track record with luxury hotel brands and a deep understanding of the GCC corporate MICE and leisure market dynamics.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Proven expertise in relationship management and business development within the corporate MICE and leisure sectors.
  • Established network within the GCC's corporate MICE and leisure industries, with strong contacts among high-net-worth individuals, government sectors, private offices, and travel agents.
  • Ability to travel freely within the GCC to support regional sales efforts and relationship-building.
