The American University in the Emirates (AUE) is seeking a 3D Lab Assistant to join the College of Design. The successful candidate will support students and faculty through hands‑on lab sessions, technical guidance and maintenance of the 3D Lab facility. The role also includes assisting with internship coordination and other academic support activities.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited university
• 23 years of experience in a university or technical environment
• Experience in managing and maintaining equipment inventories
• Proficiency in:
  • 3D Printing
  • Laser Cutting
  • Woodworking Tools
  • 3D Modeling
  • CAD Software
• Strong computer literacy

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and support lab assignments; assist with grading under faculty supervision
• Provide support to faculty and students during lab sessions and exams
• Assist faculty with course files and administrative tasks
• Adhere to academic guidelines related to course delivery, assessment and grading
• Maintain the entire 3D lab facility including equipment, software and hardware
• Coordinate lab activities with faculty members
• Manage lab inventory and collaborate with the IT Department
• Prepare and submit purchasing requests for lab supplies
• Prepare required reports and documentation
• Work independently and complete tasks in a timely, organized manner
• Demonstrate creativity and willingness to learn new technologies
• Perform additional duties as assigned by faculty, the Department Chair or the College Dean
