Job summary
A leading manufacturing company in Gauteng is seeking a qualified Millwright & Process Technician. You will maintain and optimize machinery, perform troubleshooting, and develop preventive maintenance schedules. A Millwright trade qualification and experience in injection moulding are essential. Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years experience in injection moulding or plastic manufacturing is highly advantageous.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts if required.

Our client is one of the leading manufacturing companies providing high-quality packaging solutions for various industries. They are currently seeking a qualified Millwright & Process Technicians to join their injection moulding team and play a key role in maintaining and optimizing their machinery.
- Conduct and coordinate all maintenance activities on injection moulding, preform machines and associated equipment.
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repair to minimize downtime during breakdowns.
- Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules as per supplier recommendations.
- Build and manage an inventory of machine spares, ensuring availability when required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in compliance with ISO 9001 Quality System standards.
- Monitor and control machine spares according to required standards.
- Order necessary equipment, tools, and spare parts for maintenance activities.
- Advise on and implement technical improvements that are cost-effective and enhance machine performance.
- Ensure all machines are regularly serviced, cleaned, and maintained for optimal operation.
- Develop and follow maintenance schedules and programs for each preform machine in line with supplier recommendations.
- Monitor and control machine spares to ensure minimum downtime.
- Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns on preform machines, both on-site and off-site if needed.
- Attend relevant meetings and provide technical input on machine performance and improvements.
- Be available for after-hours call-outs as required to support continuous production.
- Must have Millwright trade qualification.
- At least 3 years experience in injection moulding or plastic manufacturing is highly advantageous.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with experience handling maintenance and breakdowns.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Flexibility to work shifts if required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with breakdowns, maintenance schedules, and preventive maintenance.
